The Foreign Languages Centre is an inter-faculty unit at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland. The Centre specialises in teaching foreign languages for specific and occupational purposes to students coming from all the University Faculties. Our students can develop their language competences in English, French, German, Russian, and Norwegian. The Centre employs 56 persons, including 34 EFL teachers, 3 French teachers, 8 German teachers, 4 Latin teachers, and 4 Russian teachers.

Our language courses have been mainly targeted at our students. The University, an institution offering life-long education, also runs post-graduate studies for in-service people coming from various environments both on local and international levels. We have been co-operating with many companies that maintain business contacts with foreign elements and for which English has become a means of everyday communication. Hence, we have gained trust and prestige in business and industrial circles by providing professional training of a high quality. The Foreign Languages Centre is also interested in supplying commercial adult courses aimed at specific professional groups.
